Veterinary endoscopes need to optimize minimally invasive procedures and the patient’s comfort. Whether rigid or flexible, they are necessary for both laparoscopies and endoscopies.
Conducting an endoscopy requires hours of training and the right equipment. Our selection of endoscopic equipment can pair you with the correct tubing that can also help you to examine different organs and make accurate diagnoses.
Our endoscopy equipment is organized by product series and listed for their different specialties. The right endoscope will suit your clinic’s pet, livestock, or exotics procedures.
We currently stock Aohua brand endoscopes and equipment. With each model, you get a 120-degree rotation and 180-degree rotation for the animals. A lithium battery allows individual endoscopes to work continuously for four hours.
When do you choose a rigid endoscope or a flexible one? The procedure will determine the necessity and which organs need an examination. Gastrointestinal endoscopy, for example, has different requirements compared to laparoscopic surgery, which is exploratory in nature.
We have mainly flexible endoscopes, but there are reasons for rigid models. A rigid endoscope, also called a telescope, uses glass lenses and lights to examine non-tubular structures within the body. These include any body cavities or space.
Another criterion is budget. How important are video recordings relative to the costs of a procedure? In the case that an endoscope wears out over time, would you rather pay more for the short term or the long term?
Videoscopes cost more than fiberscopes owing to the upgraded durability and incorporated lenses. Fiberscopes need separate video cameras and eyepieces attached. While these are more portable and cost less, they are also more likely to break down over time owing to the fiber design.
