Unraveling GE\u2019s Devices, Dataflow, and Services for DICOM and Connectivity<\/h2>\n

If you\u2019re trying to export from\u00a0GE Logiq e or Vivid e ultrasound machine, it\u2019s likely that you\u2019re frustrated, lost, and feeling quite inept at technology.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s OK, you\u2019re not alone.\u00a0Far from it.<\/p>\n

In fact,\u00a0at\u00a0least once a week I get a call from a frustrated customer who\u00a0can\u2019t connect\u00a0their\u00a0GE Logiq e\u00a0or\u00a0Vivid e\u00a0to a DICOM server. They\u2019ve seen that \u201cFrowny Face\u201d so many times that\u00a0it\u2019s haunting their dreams.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>

The Dreaded Frowny-Face<\/p>\n

I understand. In my first attempt many years ago, I spent\u00a020 minutes screaming at a Logiq e. I made a video of it. It wasn\u2019t pretty and I\u2019m ashamed at my language\u00a0(sort of).<\/p>\n

The biggest problem here is that\u00a0You\u00a0<\/em>don\u2019t have an alternative<\/em>:<\/strong>\u00a0If you want to export, you need to connect to a DICOM Server (or PACS)\u00a0because exporting to DICOM via USB may corrupt loops, MPEGVue is a mess, and\u00a0don\u2019t even try exporting in PC format to a USB\u00a0(you may cry).<\/p>\n

To help you, here\u2019s our free\u00a0step-by-step tutorial in configuring your GE Logiq or Vivid e portable ultrasound machine for connecting and sending DICOM files to a PACS system.<\/p>\n

Please note that your Vivid e or Logiq e may have slightly different screens, and you may face circumstances that are unique to your situation. However, the screens you\u2019ll see in this video should be similar enough that you can look around and find a similar screen on your machine.<\/p>\n

Your Unique Situation<\/h3>\n

Some of these Logiq e and Vivid e machines have issues with certain types of DICOM files, particularly cine loops. In certain versions of the GE Logiq e and Vivid e, you\u2019ll find that if you export loops to USB in DICOM format, they won\u2019t show up on the server. The only way around this issue is to export via network. For whatever reason, loops sent via network to the DICOM server appear fine on the server.<\/p>\n

You may have DICOM Worklist, Print, or other services necessary. To perform these, simply follow the same steps. Your biggest decision will be to decide your dataflow, if you\u2019d like to assign it to a particular button.<\/p>\n
